7th Grade Social Studies Classroom Rules
1.Electronics/toys (phones, etc.) must be turned off, off desks, put away, and out of sight, unless told to use them for class work. They will be confiscated until the end of the day, if they are out or being used without permission and/or causing a disruption.
2.You are expected to show respect for all and their opinions (be on time, pay attention, do not be a disruption, no obscene language/gestures, etc.)
3.You are expected not to bring food or drinks to class (Gum is fine. However if the gum becomes a problem or distraction, it will no longer be allowed).If you bring any food or drink to class without a prior arrangement you will be asked to throw it away on the spot.
4. Substitute teachers will be respected! If a student’s name is left by the substitute because of poor behavior, that student will be directed immediately to administration for their actions.
5.Instances covered by the Carter Middle School student handbook will be enforced (dress code, fighting, etc.).
CHEATING: Cheating is absolutely not tolerated. If you are caught cheating the result will be a zero for that assignment/test/exam. If it is found that the person whose paper is being cheated from knowingly allowed the cheating to occur, their assignment/test/exam will have the same results as
the person cheating from them.
LATE WORK: Late work will be accepted one day late, for half credit. Note: If you are absent you will be given the same amount of days you were absent to make up your work.
PASSES: You will be asked to sign out (ex. drink or restroom). Each student is given five passes for the year. If this is a problem, please provide a doctor’s note explaining additional usage is necessary.
WRITING UTENSILS: It is your responsibility to have a pen or pencil for class EVERYDAY.If you do not have something to write with you will be given something to use, but will be expected to give something in collateral of higher
value and serve a 1 minute penalty after class.
ABSENT: You have options for finding out what work you missed.
Option #1: Check the class web site, Class Facebook page, or Google Classroom account, Option #2: check the “What Did I Miss?”board by the classroom door, Option #3: Ask a classmate, or Option #4: Ask Mr. Domerese/Mr. Taylor. You will have the same number of days missed to make up assignments for full credit. After the number of days the assignment becomes unexcused and late. Please note the absent policy in your student handbook. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WORK MISSED WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT.
